We are pleased to announce Colin Hawkins as our new Chairperson, succeeding Martyn Gibbons as his term concludes. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Martyn and wish him the very best for the future. Additionally, we warmly welcome three new committee members aboard.
The current seven membership categories were discussed and deemed to complicated, so we are reducing them down to three price structures, they are:-
Senior and associate senior(16 and over) £75 per season (This does not change associate voting rights at the AGM)

Junior and Associate Junior (13 to 15) £35 per season.

Senior Citizen-Associate, Senior Citizen & Concession/Disabled are all now £45.

Under 13 fish for free if accompanied by a senior member and fishing in the same swim.
No guest tickets or anglers allowed to fish, as we are a members only club.

A minimum of a 20 inch landing net regardless of what species you are fishing for, is mandatory from the start of the new season.

Carp/fish care is to be carried, displayed and used by every member, on any hook/sores/ wounds, as the fish care is paramount as they are our asset.

Padded Carp mats of a suitable size and thickness to be carried and used by all anglers regardless of what species you are fishing for. The Bailiff has the final say, and use his discretion to what is suitable, should you be unsure.

Welcome to Sawbridgeworth Angling Society

We are a well-established angling community with a thriving angling scene of over 300 members.
Our private lake is the jewel in our crown, providing high-quality fishing experiences for all types of anglers, with a diverse range of fish species including Tench, Bream, Roach, Carp, and many more. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just starting out, we have something for all our members.
In addition to our private lake, we are pleased to offer our members access to a lovely stretch of the River Stort, which provides an even wider variety of angling opportunities.
At Sawbridgeworth Angling Society, we pride ourselves on offering our members a range of fishing events and activities throughout the season. We believe that fishing is more than just a hobby; it’s a way of life. As such, we offer a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages anglers of all levels to develop their skills and passion for angling.
Our members-only lake is located off of Hallingbury Road in Sawbridgeworth, and we invite you to come and join us for an unforgettable fishing experience. If you’re interested in becoming a member, please complete the form to join the waiting list, which can be found in the main menu of our website.
